Local Time

Local Time 2009
At the beginning of 2008 I visited Europe and was exposed to some of the greatest paintings ever produced. I was impressed by the heroic historical work I encountered in Vienna, Rome and Paris.
When I arrived home to Australia I produced this exhibition based on 'the Australian psyche' as I now see it. With fresh eyes I threw myself into work both heroic in scale and horrific in nature.

Howling Forever

Howling Forever 2007
Howling Forever was produced with the aesthetic of paper back novel cover art in mind.
I was exploring the notion of producing paintings that are accessible to the wider populace,
not just the usual art viewer. I had in mind the memory of images I wanted on my walls as I was growing up in a housing commission flat.
This was a series of allegorical paintings centring around a warning of natures soon to arrive 'revenge' for actions that have brought on environmental destruction.

The Fairest Of The Seasons
Pattern Recognition
Pattern Recognition 2004
Delving into my 'Goth' tendencies this work was was a continuation of the themes I explored in my previous work Empires Fall.
Only with more punk and less hippie.
